Conquering Distractions: Tips and Tricks for Achieving Maximum Productivity

Is there ever a time when you try to be productive and feel motivated but when you try you aren’t as effective as you thought? Do you give up in the first couple of minutes?

Well, every time I try to be effective in my work or studies, I fail and do something completely different! The same thing happens to many other people I know. Sometimes we feel productive and motivated to do something and then suddenly that feeling of productivity disappears.

I think I know where this comes from. As a student, I find that most of the time I’m a hard worker and am quite motivated to work. But there are also times when I just lose that drive to be productive. I believe I have some tips that might help you!

Find How Productivity Works for You

What does productivity mean to you? Does it mean how efficiently you can work or achieve the best results without having to work? How can you make productivity work for you?

Whenever I’m trying to complete some work, I usually try to combine that work with something else that I like to do.

What I like to do to increase my productivity is listen to music. I believe that music can increase your cognitive levels of thinking. It’s always fun and motivating to chill at your table while listening to some music! This is what works for me, but some people like to find a nice quiet place to relax and be productive. When you find something that you like and works for you,  it almost makes it one step easier to be more productive!

Remove Distractions from Your Environment

When you work or study, do you have the sudden urge to go on your phone and scroll through TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube? Well, for me this was the biggest challenge I faced while studying. I don’t know about you, but I found myself checking my phone about 20 times in an hour! So, your phone can be quite a distraction when you are trying to be productive and complete your work.

A simple method to get around this is to give your phone to someone you trust, like a sibling or a parent. They can hide or keep your phone with them while you work. I usually ask my brother to hide it in random places and he gives it back after I finish working and studying! If you cannot do that, there are certain apps that lock your phone for a period of time! These methods help so much in terms of not worrying about your phone. If you don’t see the dozens of text messages you receive every minute, you won’t be as worried as you think.

Make It Easier for Yourself to Be More Productive

Making it easier to be productive is a very difficult thing! Many of the people I know struggle with procrastination and get their work done at the last second! This basically limits how consistently productive you can be.

Sometimes when I need to be as productive as possible, I make my setup or workspace as clean as possible to feel more organized, which improves my frame of mind.

Having an understanding mind can help your productivity. It’s like playing a game, your mind associates the happiness of games with a good mentality. Usually, for productiveness, there is a mentality where you feel like doing whatever you want to get done.

To boost and assist that mentality, you want to feel in the mood to do it. For me, it’s waking up early and getting things done. For others, it might be working out and feeling like you are being productive. So, whatever makes you feel productive, do it.

I hope what I said can help you become or stay productive. I hope you can build a foundation for amazing productivity!
